DIY Sugar Scrub

I love a good sugar scrub. For whatever reason it feels so luxurious and pampering, and it just feels like I’m giving my skin a treat. I thought it would be fun to make some myself, and it turned out a success! Also, look how bright and summery these photos look!

These really are so so simple to make. It took not even 5 minutes to make, and they smell SO GOOD! You can totally mix up whatever flavours and scents you would like, I went for lemon, and mint. And of course double the recipe if you want to make loads.

This is what you’ll need:

  • 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • Lemon and mint extract (or whichever other flavour you’d like)
  • Food colouring (optional)

Thats it! Only 4 ingredients!

Start off by melting your coconut oil in the microwave about 30 seconds to a minute. Add the coconut oil into your sugar and stir (add more sugar if your mixture is a little too wet, you don’t want them to be dry but just wet enough so each grain of sugar is coated).

Add in your extract, as much or as little as you’d like. You can also use essential oils for this, I’ve seen a lot of recipes with them. Next drop in your food colouring if you desire and stir it all together, and that’s it! I only added 2 drops of green food colouring into the mint one, so it would be a light, light green.

The coconut oil in these, make them so moisturizing. And of course you don’t even have to add in the extract or food colouring, you can leave as is, and it will still smell amazing and obviously work just as good.

These would be perfect for little gifts. Homemade ones are always the best! Or have your friends over and make them together!

  • I really need to try this out! I have been wanting to try a easy sugar scrub for years but this must be easiest. Going to by some stuff today!
