How To Clean Your Makeup Brushes

Okay serious question: Why is cleaning your makeup brushes the hardest thing to do in the world? It’s such a boring mundane task and it takes about 7 years to do it. We all know in the back of our mind that it just needs to get done. I am one of those people who hate cleaning there brushes, I’m always putting it off. It’s pretty gross when you think about how much bacteria you’re spreading across your face because you’re(I’m) too lazy to wash them. But once I’m done, I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders, like everything is right in the world.

This is how I like to clean them.

  1. Start by laying out all your brushes so they’re easy to grab.
  2. Wet the brush a little bit and pour on some soap. I like to use Johnson’s Baby Shampoo. It’s nice and gentle so it won’t damage your brushes.
  3. Swirl the brushes around in your hand to clean them and get the soap all bubbly. Squeeze out the excess soap/water. Repeat process if your brushes are exceptionally dirty.
  4. Lay them out on a clean towel to dry.

*Make sure when you wet the brush have the water running downwards, try not to get water up in the bristles.*
